Celebrity Pros vs. Cons

Updated: Feb 9

Celebrity is an amazing mid-luxury cruise line.

We cruised with Celebrity on the Summit in December 2018 from San Juan, Puerto Rico to St. Croix, Dominica, St. Maarten and St. Kitts.

The Rooms

Our rooms on Celebrity were always clean. The Room Stewards were always so kind and friendly. We also enjoyed that each room had an umbrella in case of rain and a Celebrity logo tote to take with you on excursions and to the beach.

Entertainment

I LOVED the entertainment on Celebrity. The dancers and singers were some of the best we've seen. They also had a really fun silent disco one night which was hilarious to participate in.

They also offer outdoor movies in the evening. These movies are newly released to DVD so if you didn't have a chance to watch them in theaters, you can watch them on the ship.

The only thing Celebrity didn't have that other cruise lines have is a library! They did not have a library with books you could rent during the cruise or a game room.

Food

We aren't main dining room cruisers as I'm a picky eater, so we eat at the buffet more often than others might. The food on Celebrity was amazing. We enjoyed the buffet as well as the main dining room. I loved their pasta bar in the buffet. I also loved the small touches they added like glass contains filled with juice and milk.

Celebrity tea time was also amazing! They had scones with clotted cream, and lots of tea to choose from.

Pools

Celebrity has an AMAZING adults-only pool area on the Summit. It's in their solarium which has windows with great views on each side as well as a glass/window canopy that can enclose the solarium or keep it open on top. Their pool is also a huge thalassotherapy pool! On all the other cruise lines you need to use the spa thalassotherapy pool and it costs extra. I was very excited that Celebrity's pool in the adult only area was the thalassotherapy pool.

Rating

I rate Celebrity a 10/10. I like them more than any other cruise line due to their entertainment, food and adult-only pool area. They really add extra touches to everything they do and it makes you feel like you're at a spa.
