Updated: Apr 1

The Gypsea Traveller is a Hawaii Travel Agency. The Owner, Libbi is a travel agent that lives in Hawaii. She has visited the Kauai Hawaii best resorts!

This blog has a ton of recommendations based on first hand experience living in Hawaii and seeing the Kauai Hawaii best resorts.

Below are my top five (plus bonus resort) Kauai Hawaii best resorts!

Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort

The Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort is located in Kapa'a, which is near the airport and more centrally located on the island. Their rooms are renovated and beautiful. Their beach isn't great for swimming but they have a pool right on the water. They also have bikes you can use to bike the Kapa'a Bike Trail. The resort has lots of activities, lawn games and a restaurant/bar. After adventuring during the day, this resort is a great one to come back to and spend the evening at. ($$$)

Royal Sonesta

The Royal Sonesta is located in Lihue which is close to the airport. The rooms are newly renovated and beautiful. It's located on Kalapaki Beach which is super calm because it's in a bay. Some guests enjoy staying there as you can see the cruise ships pull in/out of the port. ($$$)

Sheraton Kauai Poipu

It's confusing because there's two Sheratons but this one is located in Poipu. It's on a beautiful beach that can be swimmable. It's near shops and restaurants in the Poipu area. It's also closer to the Na Pali Catamaran excursions. The rooms are renovated and really nice. ($$$)

Grand Hyatt Kauai

The Grand Hyatt is an amazing resort for families. They have a really great pool area with a 150 foot waterslide. The resort also has an adult only pool. It's located in Poipu which is close to shops and restaurants. They have club rooms which offer free breakfast and appetizers in the evening. ($$$$) When you book this resort with me, you can get daily breakfast and $100 resort credit.

Koloa Landing

Koloa Landing is a great place to stay in Poipu if you want 1-3 bedroom condos. The condos have kitchens and laundry. They're great for families who want more space. ($$$$)

Ko'a Kea

Ko'a Kea is a beautiful property that's adult orientated. While it's not adult only, there isn't much at the property for kids to do, so it's great for couples and honeymooners. It's located in Poipu and is close to shops and restaurants. ($$$$$)
