Updated: 3 days ago

The Gypsea Traveller is a Hawaii Travel Agency. The Owner, Libbi is a travel agent that lives in Hawaii. She has visited all of the Hawaiian Islands and lives on Oahu. This blog has a ton of recommendations based on visiting the best rated Maui resorts.

Check out the top five best rated Maui resorts below which Libbi has been to and/or stayed at herself.

Staying on Maui and choosing the best rated Maui resorts can be overwhelming. Below are my top best rated Maui resorts.

1. Kannapali Beach Hotel

The Kaanapali Beach Hotel is located on a great beach in the Kaanapali area on Maui. It's close to lots of shops and restaurants and excursions. Most of the rooms have been renovated but if you're looking to save a little more money, you can always opt for the older rooms too. ($$)

A white sandy beach on Maui with turquoise colored water. The sky is blue with white clouds.

2. Hyatt Regency Maui

The Hyatt is a great family resort in the Kaanapali area on Maui. The beach is smaller in this area if you're wanting to lay out on a beach, but the water is nice. The Hyatt also has great club rooms that include breakfast, snacks during the day and appetizers/drinks in the evenings. ($$$)

A luxury resort with a large pool near the ocean. The ocean is calm with mountains in the background. There are palm trees all over the resort.

3. The Westin Maui Resort

I love the Westin's newly renovated rooms in their Hokupa'a Tower. These rooms are modern and fresh and include a lounge just for Hokupa'a guests that include breakfast in the morning and evening activities. The beach is great in front of the Westin. ($$$$)

A view from one of the rooms at the resort overlooks a white sandy beach. The ocean is calm and turquoise blue. There are boats in the ocean.

4. Wailea Beach Resort

The Wailea Beach Resort often prices really great for being in Wailea. Wailea has more high end resorts than Kaanapali and feels more secluded. It's still close to shops and restaurants in Wailea and Kihei. ($$$$)

A luxurious resort with a pool on the ocean. There are white lounge chairs and cabanas at the pool. The ocean is blue and calm. There are palm trees on the property.

5. The Andaz

The Andaz doesn't have as many frills for the kids, so it's more known as a couples/honeymoon resort. The resort is crisp and modern and has beautiful rooms. It's also located in the Wailea area. ($$$$$)

A modern and luxurious resort with a rectangular pool. There are lounge chairs and cabanas around the pool as well as palm trees.
