The Best Resorts on Maui

Updated: Dec 2, 2022

The Gypsea Traveller is a Hawaii Travel Agency. The Owner, Libbi is a travel agent that lives in Hawaii. she has visited all of the Hawaiian Islands and lives on Oahu. This blog has a ton of recommendations based on first hand experience living in Hawaii and seeing the resorts on Maui.

So you decided you want to stay on Maui for your Hawaiian vacation, but now you don't know what resort to book?

Below are my top five favorite resorts on Maui!

1. Kaanapali Beach Hotel

The Kaanapali Beach Hotel is located on a great beach in the Kaanapali area on Maui. It's close to lots of shops and restaurants and excursions. Most of the rooms have been renovated but if you're looking to save a little more money, you can always opt for the older rooms too. ($$)

2. Hyatt Regency Maui

The Hyatt is a great family resort in the Kaanapali area on Maui. The beach is smaller in this area if you're wanting to lay out on a beach, but the water is nice. The Hyatt also has great club rooms that include breakfast, snacks during the day and appetizers/drinks in the evenings. ($$$)

3. The Westin Regency

I love the Westin's newly renovated rooms in their Hokupa'a Tower. These rooms are modern and fresh and include a lounge just for Hokupa'a guests that include breakfast in the morning and evening activities. The beach is great in front of the Westin. ($$$$)

4. Wailea Beach Resort

The Wailea Beach Resort often prices really great for being in Wailea. Wailea has more high end resorts than Kaanapali and feels more secluded. It's still close to shops and restaurants in Wailea and Kihei. ($$$$)

5. The Andaz

The Andaz doesn't have as many frills for the kids, so it's more known as a couples/honeymoon resort. The resort is crisp and modern and has beautiful rooms. It's also located in the Wailea area. ($$$$$)
