How to Spend a Weekend on Hawai'i (aka The Big Island)
Updated: Apr 10, 2021
If you are planning your vacation to The Big Island and would like a more information on flight/resort/car packages or excursions, please email me for more information or for a personalized quote!
If you're going to The Big Island, you need to take the day and explore Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. The crater has changed since the last eruption of the Volcano so it might look different than the picture you see. Don't miss out on exploring the lava tubes and the hieroglyph field.

On the Hilo side of the Big Island, we explored Rainbow Falls and the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory. The Factory lets you sample every flavor they have and you can see how the Mac Nuts are sorted, covered in chocolate or another coating and packaged.

If you have an extra day and can make it to the Kona side of the Big Island, I recommend driving up to Mauna Kea. The sunsets can be amazing as well as the views. Be careful about altitude sickness and visit the visitors center which is halfway up and allows your body to adjust to the altitude.
Some excursions to see Mauna Kea are below:
Mauna Kea ATV, Waterfall Swim and BBQ
Mauna Kea Summit and Stars Adventure
If you enjoy snorkeling or diving, check out the night snorkel with the Manta Rays in Kona!
