Hawaii's Best Excursions
Updated: Sep 1, 2021
Depending on what Hawaiian Island you're visiting, there are so many excursions to book in Hawaii. Below are my favorite excursions to book in Hawaii!
Oahu
1. Snorkel with the Spinner Dolphins
Most excursions leave from Ko'Olina or Waianae and stop at 1-2 snorkel spots with the opportunity to see Spinner Dolphins.
2. Book a Luau
A Luau is a great way to learn about the Hawaiian culture, experience the Hawaiian food and enjoy yourself in the evenings!
3. Check out Kualoa Ranch
Kualoa Ranch is the location where Jurassic Park was filmed. They have excursions like a movie site tour, zip lining, horseback riding and more!

Big Island
1. Visit Volcanoes National Park
You can spend an entire day at Volcanoes National Park. Check out the lava tubes, hike to see Petroglyphs, see an active volcano and check out the steam vents.
2. Snorkel at night with the Manta Rays
If you're brave enough, there are many snorkel excursions that allow you to see Manta Rays as they feed on the plankton that gets illuminated at night by the lights in the water.
3. Snorkel with Spinner Dolphins
Book an excursion to snorkel and see Spinner Dolphins in the Captain Cook/ Kealakekua Bay
4. Stargaze on Mauna Kea
Most car rental companies won't allow you to drive up to Maunea Kea yourself. Try an excursion that offers the chance to see the sunset from Mauna Kea and star gaze.

Kauai
1. Book a snorkel excursion to see the Na Pali Coast
The Na Pali coast is a site you do not want to miss. You'll be able to see the beautiful mountain range that drops from the sky into the water. It can only be seen from the water or by plane, so its something not to skip!
2. Tube in an old sugar cane irrigation ditch
Sugar Cane plantations were really popular on Kauai. Learn about the sugar cane plantations while tubing through their old irrigation ditch. You'll tube through tunnels with headlamps and have a ton of fun.
3. Kayak Wailua River
Enjoy kayaking the Wailua River where you can end at a beautiful waterfall!

Maui
1. Drive the Road to Hana
Drive the Road to Hana and explore all the stops along the way
2. Snorkel Molokini Crater or Lanai
If you like to snorkel, check out Molokini crater! You can also book a snorkel excursion that leaves from Maui but will go to Lanai for some snorkel and beach time!
3. Watch the sunrise at Haleakala
Watch the sunrise from the famous Haleakala Crater, the highest peak on Maui.
4. Whale Watch
While you can whale watch on other islands, Maui is one of the best islands to whale watch on! Whales can be seen from December-April.
5. Enjoy a sunset and/or dinner catamaran
Relax one evening by enjoying the sunset on a catamaran. Some excursions also offer dinner or appetizers with drinks!
